9-30-06 October Goals

I sat here and wrote out my October goals this morning.  It’s the first time I’ve really made detailed poker goals.  If I complete them I should have a good month!

1. Make at least $1k

2. Clear my last $140 Full Tilt bonus ( it expires in the beginning of November)

3. Get some SNG tacker software and play 50 turbo SNGs on Stars

4. 10k hands on Party

5. 5k hands on Titan

That’s it!  Sounds pretty simple, except at first the Full Tilt goal wasn’t on there, I don’t know how many hands that’ll take, probably 7k at the $50NL level. 

My current bankrolls I’ll be playing with are:

Stars: $146

Titan: $1259

Party: $264

I think I’ll achieve this.  Usually when I have set goals for periods of time in the past I’ve completed them, and I also like to get off to a good start so I’ll probably hit the tables hard the first 2 weeks to get ahead of schedule.

9-29-06

Yesterday I finally had a decent day – playing $25NL on Party!  I cleared a $100 bonus and made $100.  I’m actually starting to like Party.  I hated it for the longest due to being kicked off once for using a friend’s credit card to deposit and another time I cleared a bonus and just ran awful while doing it.  I still run like shit there alot, but I guess variance can be much higher when when people play that loose.  I play with people with VPIPs oner 60 alot!  Now why haven’t I been adding them to my Party Buddy list?  I started to do that last night.  The only thing is is that when players are that bad I seem to play too loose to try and be in the pot with them.  Then I take top pair, or even second pair, and run wiht it because I’ve seen them call down with worse.  I need to just play my game and if I wind up in a pot with them good, if not, fine.

Oh, I’ve also been 3-tabling!  I tried 4, but think I should get used to 3 for a month or so first.  I can 3 table on Titan with the overlap and do fine.  I made one terrible call during that, but played fine besides that.  I need to stop trying to bluff though.  I just can’t believe the hands I get called with.  I’m sure my bluffs will work a bit better once I move up in stakes, but until then I need to just c bet and that’s usually it.

October soon, I need to set some poker goals.  I was thinking 15k hands for the month.

9-25-06

Got into a juicy $100NL 8max game today on Titan.  I ended up down $30 or so, but I was down $200+.  It felt like $500!  I’m still used to $50NL swings.  When I thought about it I reaklized it was only 2 buy-ins.  the game was just crazy loose-aggresive!  Not in a good way eihter.  5+ people in most raised pots.  All ins on the flop with T8o for 2nd pair (8s) and having AQ and A4 call for a 3 buy in pot!  I hope I can find a table like that when I’m running good!

Might play some on Party later, but may not.

9-24-06 Poker, what’s poker?

I actually wen tto the circus this evening.  Cool show, my girlfriend loved it!

Yeah, of course I played some poker too!  Uh, hate the Stars $50NL 6max.  Dropped about $80 in 20 minutes there.  I was a 78%+ fav all-in on the flop and lost a buy-in!  Crazy, idiotic call by him, but…  Besided that I tried to reraise someone on the flop twice with nothing and each time got reraised all-in and had to fold.  Prabably lost $20 in sngs on Stars too.  So, minus $100 on Stars for the day.

Party, Titan and Doyle’s room I won some – probably around $50 total.  Losing steaks suck!  They mentally can be frustrating.  You can even start doubting yourself sometimes.

Other poker related news: Withdrew my $200 from Doyle’s to open a rakeback account on an OnGame skin (whenever it gets “approved”.  Wonder why Stars and FTP withdraws are approved in minutes, but other places days?).

Cleared my PT database to start new ones for each site – instead of combining everything.  Now I have to figure out how many Hand Grabbers I can use to manuelly import so I can datamine a grip of sites at once!

Hmmm…  total bankroll is about…  $1850.  Don’t think I’ll make the $2500 mark this month, but you never know.

I started 3 tabling the last few days on Stars and Party since you can shrink those tables.  I have been starting up 2 sngs on Stars and 1 cash game on Party.  If both sngs get short handed I sit out on Party while they’re short handed.  It doesn’t seem to be giving me any problems, except when I it’s my turn on Stars and the “Fold, Check, Raise, etc” commands are blocked by the Party table and no matter how many times I click on the Stars table it won’t go to it until I act on the Party table.  I really need to just buy a 1600×1200 used monitor – there were a few used ones in the paper for about $100 or so.

9-23-06 Doyle’s Room….

Never played anywhere with such odd players.  I think normally I’d enjoy it, but not after today.  I started an account there today for the $550 bonus and 25% rakeback.  Now 4 hours later I’m down $300 to the worst players.  I could go on & on about the beats and setup hands, but we’ve most all been there.  This evening was just the worst for me ever.  I played for 5 or more hours and just kept losing more & more, but was sure the whole time that I was a better player at the tables.  Oh well, maybe I’ll win 1/3 of it back tomorrow!

The worse part of it is:  I was only going to play for 15 minutes or so to get some raked hands then withdraw.  Now I can’t make myself withdraw $200!

Wednesday 9-20-06

I only played 2 out of the last 3 days, but I’ up nearly $300 from those 2 days – maybe over!  $100NL on Titan is going good.  Got over $1300 BR there.  Messed around at Party a bit too.  I’m only playing $25NL there because I’m too lazy to figure out another free way to deposit besides Neteller ( I can’t use Neteller for Party at this time ). 

Then this evening it was $50NL on Full Tilt.  I think I won $50+, not sure.  I started off great, got stacked on the turn when I hit my set of Kings to a str8.  I pushed on his check-raise even though I though he may have it, but even if I just call I’m pretty sure all the $ was going in anyway.

Leaks in my game I’m working on: Playing weak offsuit broadway OOP, same goes for suited aces.  Checking stack sizes when raising with drawing hands.  Folding A-rag in the SB when there’s limpers more often – I hate A-rag in the SB.  There’s a few others to that I can’t think of – hope I remember them tomorrow while I play!

Sunday 9-17-06

Well, overall pretty good day today.  I won $140 at Titan this morning, over $100 of it was HU cash games too.

Played at Party for a few hours too.  Managed to win $10 or so.  Didn’t play my best the whole time.  Gotta remamber that at these small stakes  you cna’t bluff a guy wiht second pair, nor casn you raise with 89o on the button when they play K4o for a raise and call your cont. bets.

I think I’ll be building a fence at my house tomorrow so I don’t know how much I’ll get to play.  I have $1700 bankroll right now.  I would like to get it up to $2500 by October so I can withdraw $500 for the bills.  So that’s 13 days for $800.  $50 – which is my under-estimated daily average – a day is $650 so I think it’s very doable and if I play at least my B game I should do it!

Damn I suck!  I’ve called off 100s of dollars the last couple of days.  I just click on the all-in button.  Don’t know why I can’t stop bluffing the calling stations!  I guess I’ve lost a few hundred the last few days.  I’va also learne dmonths ago that TPTK on a scary flop is not worth 100BB, yet that’s exactly what I just did! 

What bothers me the most is that I know what I do wrong, yet still do it.  It’s not like I’m in the dark.  Hmmm….  Hopefully I won’t play any more tonight…lol….

Hmmm….  First blog, don’t even know how this works…

Well, Titan Poker today for a little 2-tabling $50NL 6max.Started the day with $700 in that account and after 5 hours of play ended up at $620.  so I lost $80 today.

Party: $225
